Consecration of the Chapel of St James

Found in: News

The Archbishop blessed the congregation and surrounding buildings with baptismal water and led the congregation with hymns, prayers and Holy Communion.  Students, staff of St James' and parishioners all participated in the ceremony with representatives from the Anglican Schools Commission, the architects that designed the Chapel and Principals from other schools.

Year 5 and 6 students represented our school by assisting with car parking and guiding guests to the Chapel as well as handing out service booklets and forming part of the Sanctuary party.  Adrian Pree, Principal of St James' said “It was a very proud moment seeing our students participate in this official ceremony.  From our Kindergarten classes up to our Year 6’s, all students did a fantastic job and displayed a high level of maturity”.

This event marks the officially opening of the Chapel of St James and Reverend John Taylor looks forward to welcoming everyone to services held on Fridays at 9.00am and Sundays from 10.00am.
