On Thursday 7 April week 10, we will be hosting a fundraising event to help the children of Gitumba in Africa, raising money for the Classroom of Hope.
Classroom of Hope use the money raised to build classrooms closer to these children’s village. The 400 students of Gitumba walk 2.5 hours over a mountainous jungle to get to their school, and they walk 2.5 hours to get back! Put together, that is the nearly the amount of time students in Australia spend at school!
Once the School has been built the children of Gitumba will finally be able to help out in their community more, be able to spend more time with their families and be able to just relax and not stress about getting to school in the morning. Hopefully they will be able to have the same privileges that we do.
The event will take place on the stage in front of D3, and there will be guessing the lollies in the lolly jar, sausage sizzle, drinks and cake sales. Please bring in gold coins to purchase any of the above items or just to make a donation.
Sausage Sizzle $2
Can of drink $1
Cakes will range from 50c-$1
Lyndsay Pekin, a professional athlete, will also make an appearance and talk to us about the Classroom of Hope.
