The Year 2 Sleepover acts as an introduction to the Camps program we run at St James’ Anglican School, and for many students it is a chance to brave their first night away from home.
This year, we started the evening with some outdoor games before the students made their own delicious pizzas for dinner. After a sing along with Mr Crane and his guitar, it was time for a movie and bed. Following an early wake up, students packed away their sleeping gear before enjoying pancakes for breakfast. Mrs Quartermaine led the students through a morning yoga session, followed by a play on the Nature Playground before the rain arrived at the same time as the parents!
It was an excellent night enjoyed by the students, teachers and parent volunteers alike. Thank you to Miss Meulenkamp, Mr Mornement, Mr Townsend and Mrs Syme as well as our fabulous parent volunteers for your outstanding assistance at the event. Thank you to our students whose behaviour was excellent. Seeing what the students gain from events such as these: strengthened bonds with their classmates and teachers, increased self-confidence plus a great deal of fun, makes it all worth it!
