Welcome to St James’ Anglican School!
Each school has its own unique flavour. St James’ has built its foundations on relationships and trust.
The arts, academia, sport, languages, pastoral care and Christian values are all aspects that we aim to deliver at the highest standard possible.
St James’ will equip your child with the skills to survive in an ever-changing world. We will develop each child to maximise their potential and graduate as confident and engaging young Australians. We want our graduates to be passionate, care about their potential impact on the world that awaits them and know they can make a difference.

We believe that each student will establish their own independence and take responsibility for their own development. We refer to this as ‘agency’. It is a term that permeates our educational language. Students must be their own advocates, recognise cause and effect, and develop agency.
Recognising individual differences and establishing clear learning pathways for children who are developing at different rates is the key to good education.
Feedback has proven to have the most significant effect on improving results when delivered constructively and positively. Students benefit from explicit feedback delivered by caring and supportive teachers. Parents want constant feedback, so problems do not become significant. End-of-year reporting is designed to reinforce the communication that has already been received through regular contact.
The key building blocks of our School start with numeracy and literacy, as delivered through our bespoke ACTIVATE Learning Program in our core subjects of English, Humanities, Mathematics and Science.
St James’ also delivers an extensive specialist curriculum which includes many areas aimed at broadening each student’s skill set. Design and Technology, Information Technology, Food Technology, Outdoor Education, Japanese, Music, Art and Physical Education. These will all help support a myriad of co-curricular activities, and it is this breadth of opportunity that will help develop a truly holistic approach to the development of our students. We want to ensure the ‘whole’ student is developed and the base is broad.
We will do everything we can to make your child and your family an integral part of our Christian community. Our goal is to work hard to be the best we can possibly be. We will listen, we will be transparent, and we will look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with every family.
When your child graduates, they will become part of a powerful alliance- our alumni, who we affectionately refer to as ‘The 23’.
Our vision for the future is clear. Quality education in a caring environment. Happy students always achieve great results, which ensures a great future. Join the Orange Army and see what we can achieve together.
Best wishes
