Over the past four weeks, students in the Senior School have been preparing for their Public Speaking and Debating Grand finals. Year 7 and 8 fought a hard battle for the distinction of winning first place in the Public Speaking Competition. The standard was extremely high, as reported by the expert panel of judges, however, Eglinton won first place with their persuasive speech on ‘Let’s Make History’.

The Year 9 and 10 debating grand final was a close battle between Cervantes and Eglinton on the topic of “Free Speech Should Apply to Social Media”. Once again, Eglinton won first place with a convincing and cohesive argument.

Well done to all presenters in both competitions and the collaborative efforts of the Pastoral Care Groups to come up with some persuasive and convincing speeches.
