On Thursday 29 August the Year 10 Food Technology students were given an amazing opportunity to help struggling families in their local community. Mrs Robertson, Mrs Kuiper and Mrs Durham worked with the students to produce approximately 65 meals for the Salvation Army. A select number of students will then deliver these lovingly prepared meals to the Merriwa centre each week for assistance. The activity allowed students to become active participants in supporting the community while developing the idea of civic responsibility. This is the first time that St James’ has completed a project of this size for people in hardship and we are so thrilled to be able to contribute to this worthy cause.
