On Friday 4 December the Year 3-6 students travelled down to Alkimos Surf Life Saving Beach to compete in their Houses for the winning House trophy. We are very fortunate to have the program funded by Lendlease, as well as the support and expertise of Surf Life Saving WA. Students competed in a range of Individual and Team events, including flags, swim and board races, Beach volleyball, tug of war, and many more. We were blessed with beautiful weather and it was fantastic to see all students challenge themselves individually, as well as support their peers throughout the day.
The programs were assisted by the following Year 9 students, Jayden, Brady, Hermione, Charlie, Gareth, Joss, Rhys, Mia, James, Alex, Brogan, Hollie, Matt, Reece, Tongxin, Eddie and Marco. They were commended by staff and parents for excellent behaviour, leadership and communication skills.
This year, we incorporated the ‘Life Saver’ award, which recognised students who demonstrated outstanding resilience, a positive mindset and House spirit on the day. The following students were awarded:
Year 3 Laken Henzler, Melissa Allan and Harvey Nguyen
Year 4 Lola Jackson and Ava Webber
Year 5 Bradley Mutepfa and Aylah McIntyre
Year 6 Cody Bradshaw and Oliver Wainwright
The overall results from the day:
1st Eglinton
2nd Cervantes
3rd Twilight
4th Sydney
Thank you to all of the staff, Surf Life Saving Instructors and Year 9 helpers for your assistance with running an awesome carnival.
